Show and tell
For the most part, the magazine editors with whom
I work give assignments that are the perfect blend of structure
and freedom to be creative. Usually, a story line will have been
decided and a shoot list of places and people is provided as the basic foundation.
Beyond that, I am able to go with the flow of the experience and take advantage
of whatever surprises are presented. These are the times I am guided by my intuition
to be in the right place at the right time or to ask someone on the street the question
that opens a door. An editorial assignment may lead me to shoot people, scenics,
interiors, food, architecture or a still life vignette. It is exactly this variety
and this sense of discovery that makes this type of work among my most favorite!
Through assignments and the sale of stock photography, my work has appeared in:
Midwest Living
Midwest Motorist
Ms.
Women’s World
Destinations
American Society of Travel Agents Magazine
Diversions
Odyssey
Country Heart
Country America
Intuition
Guidepost Publications
Kansas City Star Books
John Muir Publications Guidebooks

and numerous regional magazines such as Travelhost Happy Camper and Branson's Review.
