Southwest Wisconsin
The first installment of a portion of the Mississippi Great River Road covers a 175-mile section along the eastern bank of the river in southwest Wisconsin.
The river here is bounded by forested hills and towering bluffs. There are appealing little towns perched on the hills that seem filled with open, trusting people.
Gardens everywhere flourish with vegetables and flowers and cafes where the owners bake the bread and make the ice cream!
It's the kind of place that makes you wish you had a Grandma to visit here! It feels as safe and comforting as warm cookies and cold milk.
