The Santa Fe Prize for Photography
I am honored to be nominated for the 2009 Santa Fe Prize for Photography. The award process is by nomination only, photographers cannot apply independently.
The prize is a $5,000 award to complete a body of work or to introduce that work to a larger audience. In my case, that body of work is the
Mississippi Great River Road project. You can see the selection of 20 images in my submission in the slide show at right.
Click here to begin slideshow. You can stop or start
it by clicking in the bar below. Captions appear at the top when you rest your mouse on the image.
The nomination has opened a wonderful opportunity - I am invited to attend the Santa Fe Review in June. This juried portfolio review will include
nine one-on-one sessions with esteemed curators, editors, publishers and gallery and agency reps. I am thrilled with this opportunity to share
my project!
I've just returned from another shoot along the Mississippi - a small town Mardi Gras in Louisiana, plantation homes, a Native American Powwow and
a soul-stirring Sunday in a lively church. Watch for those to be posted soon! Click
