Ireland:
A lift for
the heart

Ireland. It makes me smile just to say the name. It calls to mind things that sparkle and lilt – the brogue, the music, the astonishingly green hills, the smiles. The Irish people welcome you into their homes and their hearts and in spite of the vast numbers of people who visit, they manage to make you feel like a cherished guest.

The past and present coexist everywhere in Ireland and perhaps that is partly why the Irish seem to have such clarity about who they are. There is very little pretense, just real people living real lives and finding the joy in that. They will “pull your leg” at every opportunity and find great delight in doing so, but they will also be quick to help you in any way.

It’s a beautiful land of beautiful people. If you haven’t yet been, go.
