New Zealand:
All that glitters

New Zealand sparkles. That is the common thread that runs through my memories of this gorgeous country. The air and water are clean, the skies are usually unbelievably blue and there is every kind of beautiful terrain imaginable. The crime rate is low and respect for individuals is high. No wonder so many people try to move there.

I had the good fortune to be sent there on assignment for Abercrombie & Kent. I traveled with one of their “active” tours for nearly two weeks on both the North and South Islands. We hiked, kayaked, white water rafted, jetboated, had a hot air balloon ride and did a tandem parachute jump (which was fabulous!). We shied away from the bungee jumping (which was created in New Zealand) but got some vicarious thrill from watching.
